Sexual assault/rape...
Hi. Not sure where to go with this. Im a 34 year old man. And roughly 9 years ago. I was sexually assaulted and raped by my best friend... but its taken me this long i guess to understand that's that what happend. My friend always been alittle sexually pushy. Using peer pressure ect to get his way.. but this time. We were away for another friend's birthday and at the hotel we had to share a bed... I woke to him touching me inappropriately. I froze.. unsure on my half drunken half asleep state what was exactly going on... he proceeded further. Wich is where the rape comes in... nothing has been said since and I still see him from time to time. I've never spoke to anyone about it. But its really starting to get to me. Not sure why its taken so long. I think maybe one of thoes stuck to the back of my mind things I don't know. But now its all I think about... I feel sick. I don't know what to do...
@purpleVillage2467 I'm so sorry sweetie 😥 it takes time to process some things especially with trauma🙁 but you did so well in opening up here today 💖 you should be very proud of yourself for that💖 in time I hope you will be able to open up to your family or friends too. Or perhaps a therapist might be a good place to start💖 But till then you have all of us at cups 💗 your safe here, gives you a giant tiny hug 💗 I'm right here for you 💗
Thank you, I appreciate you. I felt I had to get it out somehow, im no good with conveying emotions. So i figured a platform such as this would help. It's nice to know people out there will listen, i think therapy is the next step tho. Thank you x
@purpleVillage2467 always here for you 💖💖💖💖
I’ve been dealing with something very similar to your situation as well. Different beds and I date rape drugged though. As a male raped by a friend two years ago and still having to work with the person who raped me is extremely sickening. I reported it to my fire chief who ended up brushing it under the rug. I still have to operate as a Firefighter/EMT with my abuser. I can barely sleep and I barely eat now as I just get sick as it always crosses my mind that night. I turned to alcohol and smoking which obviously never works as a coping skill. I can’t even be sexually intimate with my girlfriend, who I want to propose to this year. Just recently (today) I reported the assault to the city’s attorney and they are investigating the assault. A bitter sweet moment as it brings out those demons again, but it’s a step closer to the closure I need.
Talking about it truly helps when you talk to others who are or have gone through similar experiences. What I’ve also been doing to help myself get through it is raising awareness of sexual assault/rape amongst males as well as first responder sexual assault/harassment. I also would consult with a therapist. It will continue to eat you up if you don’t talk to a professional. I currently am at the point too in my situation.

I appreciate you sharing your story with me. Your situation sounds dreadful, my sincere apologies I can understand how it feels. My issue is having that first step courage to speak to someone, in a sense im glad there are people out there that understand as I too feel male sexual assault isn't something spoken about all to often. We should all come forwards raise awareness, find solace in eachother and help guide each of is through the next steps?...
I am so sorry this happened to you. That is a terrible secret you have weighing on you. If I can help at all please let me know
