Trauma support

I experienced physical, sexual, and emotional abuse from my narcissistic, abusive father when I was 14 and again at 16.

I’m now 23 and in the process of healing.

My question to anyone who has been through something similar and has healed:

What does complete healing feel like?

And what thoughts do you have about the traumatic event after you’ve healed?

I would love to hear from someone even if you haven’t fully healed yet but are working toward it. At the very least, I just need hope, strength, and support.

@Nnornor24

🥺

💕💜

I'm so sorry you experienced this.

There are no words.

The betrayal

The fear.

The confusion.

The denial.

A million emotions going through your head.

Healing is different for every person.

Everyone is triggered differently.

Its important to be aware of what triggers it most .

Its something that sadly is carried but please know, you are not a bad person, you are not responsible, you are not disgusting, or broken or damaged, or anything else, abusers try to make you feel.

You are not a victim.

You are you.

You matter.

You deserve to feel safe.

Loved.

To not associate every intimate feeling with what was inflicted on you.

I hope you heal .

I hope you know, you matter 💕💜

I'm sorry this ever happened 💕

I have not healed completely but I'm doing so so soo much better and it feels amazing. Looking back the way I felt I thought I would never come out of that hole but trust me I did I really did I still can't believe it cause I was in a dark place really dark place but ofc I still get flash backs and some things remind me of the abuse. I still think about how I wasn't allowed to shower with the doors shut he just needed to stare at me (my mom's husband at the time) I also remember him hitting me till I had terrible cuts on my skin and was bleeding it does hurt from time to time and some things remind me of that time but trust me I feel good❣️. It's also hard to like trust men for me but I have an amazing boyfriend who has a lot of patience with me cause it took me two years for me to be able to show him my body. I sometimes still think about the sa especially the first time I did it with my boyfriend it was hard for me it really was.

I was also not allowed to show emotions, cry or ask for food even when I'm still hungry I wasn't allowed to do that I still think of those times how he looked at me with serious hate and raised his voice at me literally every time even when my mom was there
