What is life?
"هذا النص ليس حكماً عليك، بل هو محاولة لفهم الحياة من منظور مختلف. خذ منه ما يلامس قلبك، واترك ما لا يلامس قلبك."
"وأنا أعلم أن الطريق ليس سهلاً، وأن لكل شخص ظروفاً لا يستطيع الآخرون رؤيتها."
What is life?
This may seem like a strange or even a foolish question on the surface, but it can be far deeper if you look at it from a social perspective rather than an individual one. People with a practical and material mindset—usually those who have spent most of their lives working and carrying responsibilities—tend to see life as “food, drink, and security.”
On the other hand, if you ask others, you will find that they lean toward enjoying life; some chase very high goals, while others simply indulge without caring about consequences, believing that this is what success is.
But what about you? What does life mean to you?
In both cases, despite the clear difference, they share one thing: they all define success according to society’s standards, not their own. That is why, when most people reach the peak they once desired, they do not feel satisfied. Naturally, do not be surprised; they did not become who they truly wanted to be, but rather who they were expected to become.
This is the truth. You can see it—just observe how actors, celebrities, and public figures often turn to fulfilling their desires through money so they do not feel bored, or they resort to distractions, or even cover themselves with tattoos. Yes, this may have other reasons as well, but do you really think a person who is genuinely at peace with themselves would do that? In my opinion, no.
On the other hand, they are not much different from a government employee who pays taxes every month, studies for 11 to 12 years, then spends another 4 to 7 years in university, only to move from one square room to another, without mastering any real skill, convincing themselves they are happy because of a false sense of stability.
Life... I did not say that having money, safety, or stability is bad. I am talking about your life as an individual—something greater than dying after fulfilling all your desires, but rather dying truly at peace with yourself. Yet, the flawed definition of success in society has become dominated by an excessive fear of society itself, turning it into one of the most misleading ideas.
It is unfortunate to live your life based on what someone else believes is best for you, while you think it is your own idea—without ever stopping to reflect on what you already have, continuing instead to build a dream shaped by your surroundings... am I not right?
As for me, from my perspective, life has always been about developing what you already have, and becoming the best version of yourself. It is about being content with what you possess, while striving to improve it. That is all there is to it.
This was the way of human life before the invention of the phone; people were grateful for what they had, trying to develop it, growing within the shape of the vessel they were born into. That is why you find that many people from those times achieved great things. That is the point... they built themselves without changing who they were; they believed they could do it, and so they did.
We often confuse belief with lying to ourselves. If you want to become the best version of yourself that exists in your mind right now, then start embodying it. Do not be afraid—this is not a lie, this is the truth as long as you believe in it. And it is okay to make mistakes in the beginning.
You are the one who decides who you are. You build yourself by living your moment and your reality. And as advice: do not merely have dreams—create them. That is the purpose of being yourself.
Do not be afraid. We all begin by lying to ourselves and playing roles—this is simply human nature. You cannot achieve anything without first believing in it and imagining it. There is nothing wrong with being “fake” at the beginning, pretending to be who you want to become, as long as you work and persist, even if it is in small steps. With sincere intention, you are the one who decides who you are in this very moment.
You are already the person you wish to become. You only think that person is some distant rank or level, but in reality, it is just an idea—and an idea can be possessed and expressed by anyone.
All great works and great figures in history, even mathematical discoveries, begin first with believing that you can do it, imagining it, and having faith in it before it becomes reality.
So rise—the person you wish to become is already you. There is no need to chase them.
