missing kyla
it's been almost fours years since my friend died by overdose. i was the one who found her body. sometimes i can't get the image out of my mind. i am a social worker and just started a new job where my coworkers are so rude, callous, and judgemental about our clients- many who have similar struggles that she had with drug use and mental health challenges as my friend. It makes me so angry to hear them but i feel like i can't say anything because i just started the job and am not trying to come off as condescending or judgemental. i just miss her. and i wish i could work with people who understand that people are doing the best they can with what they have.

Greetings, Lemon,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I thank you for the way you're giving back to your community and certainly agree with your words. I lost my dear cousin in June to a sudden drug overdose and the loss has been very challenging. She had so many wonderful traits and even more missed potential. I think it's easy for people to judge what they do not understand.
I encourage you to discern teachable moments from ignorance and see if that helps. Sometimes people like this can be informed and come to consider things from another perspective, while others are simply stuck in their ways and closed off to education.
It's been a few days since your original post. How are you feeling today? ❤️
