A bit about me

Hello!

I’m glad to have found 7 cups.

I have known about my childhood trauma for a while (sexual abuse by my dad) and have done lots of therapy in the past. However, about three months ago I got triggered and had a complete meltdown involving severe anxiety. All my childhood feelings have arisen in a new way so it feels like I’m starting again. I recently reunited with my mum after years of me being too angry to talk to her. She is supporting me and has divorced my dad but I guess I still resent her for what happened and for not being more emotionally present for me growing up.

thanks for reading

@bearduvet Hi there, glad you have found us as well! I'm so sorry to hear about your trauma, that's such a painful thing to go through especially without your mother supporting you enough :/

Healing is complicated and its ebbs and flows. There are times when you relapse and you just have to remember that you do know how to get back to normal cause you've done it before. Recall your exercises in therapy and turn to what you learned there to help cope <3

I hope you work things out with your mother and feel better :)

P.S. Consider starting therapy again? Might be helpful

I’m am dealing with this as well but my mom never left my dad. Shoot we all still live in the same household but there are so MANY elephants in the room. I feel resentment at times because I feel like I’ve sacrificed myself for this family & no one cares about what I want.
