My trauma story
When i was 10 I was at a park with my best friend and we were just enjoying our time when all of a sudden we heard shouting from across the park. We decided to check it out and it was the worst mistake of my life. I'm not going to go into detail but one man was beating another man to death with a wooden board. The one man saw me and my friend and began to chase us with the board. Thankfully me and my friend were able to get away but the scene left me traumatized. I dont know if it counts as real trauma but I am 16 now and still have nightmares about it and get panic attacks when there is graphic violence in video games or in movies. Soon after that moment I started to get extreme moods, weekly panic attacks and a loss of control of my thoughts. After some miserable years I finally saw a doctor and a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with bipolar disorder and I've been in treatment ever since. I've never opened up about it because Idk if this counts as real trauma because it wasnt like I was in the army or anything and I don't want to seem attention seeking. Thank you for listening
