@Mickayla Be honest with others about what things really feel like because the more people who can appreciate fully the struggles you are going through, the better support you can receive. It can take time where you feel safe to be that honest, but as Survivors we all too often say we are fine when we are not, and not everyone looks beyond the surface, and those around us supporting us are also not mind readers. Sometimes we expect people to know what ot say or to appreciate what we're feeling without having actually told anyone or been that honest and upfront, and then we can get cross at those around us. smiley

I think you have suggested a wise idea, that it is important to be honest about your experiences, and communicating and sharing these with others. By remaining honest, you can open up to others, and receive effective help for yourself. You can effectively convey to others what has happened, so that they will be able to understand well, what you have been through.

...it changes your mentality completely and hinders your present/future. I cannot be the person I feel like I was meant to be because my experiences ruined my personality.

@Mickayla

It torements you for life to various degrees.It totally changes who you are or who you could have been. It causes you to see the world through stain glass. Damages your ability to trust, and you seem to always be in a guarded state.
