Recovering from an Emotionally Abusive Relationship

I was with my partner for 9 months after moving across the world with him to begin a new life together. Everything was great until his behaviour slowly began to change and he became controlling, manipulative, horrible and as I finally started to accept... Emotionally abusive. Without going in to too much detail, he began to control my whole life, my friends; my clothes; my work; who I speak to; everything. He was never physically aggressive directly to me so I never believed that the way he would act could be "abuse".

We have now been separated 3 months and I am struggling to get back to my normal life that was before I met him. I am struggling a lot with self esteem and trust, feeling like I am constantly letting people down and giving myself anxiety over the fear of constantly doing things wrong. I am constantly pushing people away in fear that they will try to control me. I am starting to see it myself which I understand is good, but I just feel like I've hit a brick wall. My relationships are suffering, not just romantically but with friends and family too; and am in constant fear of doing something wrong in everything I do.

People always talk about recognising an emotionally abusive relationship, but never how to heal and recover afterwards and I am struggling. Hopefully through 7 cups I can find someone who can help or may understand.
