Any advice on how to deal with sexual abuse from a family member, the nightmares that haunt me and the flashbacks throughout the day although this happened 6 years ago & continued for 2 I thought it was over but this has me depressed for the last couple of weeks. If anyone has gone through anything similar please reply.

EMDR is an acronym for 'Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing'. EMDR is a powerful psychological treatment method that was developed by an American clinical psychologist, Dr Francine Shapiro, in the 1980s.

Hey I know how hard it can be, feeling like you are okay and then having it hit hard. I would recommend doing some therapy, there are several techniques they can use, I did a lot of CBT which helped me to deal with flashbacks ect. It is hard but you can get throught. And if you ever want to talk, I am here:)
