I am now 39 and suddenly feel overwhelmed by the memories and effects of the emotional/physical/sexual abuse from my mother and others. I thought i had dealt with it long ago but now wish i had perhaps had her punished for it...maybe I am just very angry? I feel crippled by loneliness and depression. Last May my daughter was born three months early and it has been a tramatic year, caring for her and fearing for her. Maybe it is the amazing love and care and feel for her that has bought these things back, knowing my mother must never have felt the same. Also it makes me realise just how vunerable I was. It's a hard time.

Hello boobin76,

You have been abused in many ways by your mother and others and thought that you had overcome all that awful past. Non the less, you feel that your daughter's birth and the difficulties that came with it triggered what you thought had been sorted out. I would agree with you on that.

Although you can come here and have 1-on-1 sessions with listeners, you may try and find a good professional therapist who could help you deal with that tough time, as you seem to feel very lonely in your journey through that period of life. That professional would probably have the right words to make you find the srength and self-confidenceyou need, and you would feel supported. What do you think about that? If you can't afford a therapist, and actually even if you find one, you are always welcome here to talk and share.

Please take great care and be safe. I wish you and your wonderful baby the so very best :)
