Last month my friend and I took a bus to meet another friend to get our nails done. After we did we caught another bus to another bus stop that would take us back to our college. As we got off the bus, we crossed the street and halfway through, a drunk man drove into the crosswalk on a red light. He hit my friend and the car took her a few feet away and dropped her in the street. The guy tool off and left us all in the street. My friend is alive and the man was arrested. We spent hours in the hospital and she was in intense pain. It was the worst thing I've ever had to see happen. I have bad anxiety crossing streets especially with people and when I think of that night I start panicking. I always feel like I could have done so much more or done a lot of things differently. I am working towards helping this and taking care of myself and waiting to see my friend when she gets better. No one really understands how much it affected me because they carelessly run in the streets and I don't know how to protect them.
