What is Your Safe Place? [Trauma Discussion]
Being a victim of traumatic incidents can produce a number of emotions in one, including feeling violated, hurt, dejected, angry, etc.
One option for coping, when experiencing painful emotions, is to think about something positive and comforting, a safe place within ones mind. This activity can be a source of solace and comfort, and provide relief from the negative emotions, which one can experience after encountering traumatic events.

I think one of my "safe places" is music, I can get completely lost in it.

I really hope you find it eventually, sometimes it takes a while to find it and that's okay. I find at least for me when I can't space out or seem to really relax at all I usually do a hobby of mine to keep my hands busy. Maybe your happy place is in something like that! Though, please do bare in mind that's only a suggestion. It will come to you as you find new interests and whatnot. Wish you the best of luck on your path! -Mika
My safe place is usually spacing out to my world of characters I've made up. I love thinking about what would they do in certain things in their fantasy world. It's usually what I think about deeply when I need a break for a little bit. If I can't do that, I usually either go here or to Tumblr. That's my happy places

It sounds like youve got a safe place to think about, which is helpful, and some effective ways for coping.
My safe place is my smartphone with all the notification turned off so there's no one can reach out to me. Then I'll drown myself browsing funny memes on imgur.
My room where im alone
I have had a hard time in the past finding a safe place, because I was homeless for a while, and even now, I'm never in one place very long. I found for most people the felt safest in a certain room or in a certain location. That was hard for me, because it made me believe that my safe place had to be a physical place (and being that I was never in one place long that made things very hard). It has taken me a few years to realize, safe doesn't have to be a physical location. For me, now, safe means feeling comfortable and trusting, regardless of location. My safe place is either playing piano, or imagining that I'm hiking in the mountains or standing on a beach totally alone and isolated (just listening to the sounds of nature).
