@Anastasia238 you are right it is one of the after effects , I had a similar reaction whilst I was being abuse and assualted as a child and through my teens , people and my family thought I was just acting out . But in hindsight I realise it was result of the abuse . I never had the help back then , but if you can talk to a good therapist , or a listener here in trauma .

@Anastasia238 I was the same way after the second time I was assaulted. The first time I was really young, I went the other direction. I had zero interest in sex, but when I was assaulted again, I had the opposite response: I found myself almost aggressively searching for sex. I believe it was a way to try to reclaim agency over my own body and what sex meant to me. I do, however, feel like there were many occasions where this put me in more dangerous situations and agree with the earlier comment that a good therapist or listener can help with it.

@Anastasia238 perhaps the urge stems from a subconscious desire to relieve oneself of the 'dirty' feeling we get following sexual assault or abuse. As the attack itself is often against one's consent it could be that we find the urge as a way to deal with that feeling of being violated. What I am trying to say but failing to do so well is that the urge is a way of taking back control of the situation i.e. as in to say perhaps that by having sex in your own way and time and with the person you choose is to eradicate the feeling that your personal boundaries have been violated.

NB. I am a survivor of sexual assault but it had the adverse affect on me. I felt closed off and did not want to talk to anybody about it and I did not feel the urge to want to have sex with my partner who was also violated in the same manner.
