CPTSD, if in crisis tw
I just got taken out of therapy. I fell like I took a thousand steps back from where I was just now. My residential group thinks it is best for me if I don’t go to therapy right now, but I am just destabilizing myself more and more. Sometimes I am stuck in the flashbacks and can’t help myself. Therapy helped me with that really, but now I am on my own. I am going to go in a traumaclinic, but the queues are so long, I just got set on one and if I am lucky I’ll get to be there in a year. I don’t know what to do. Any advices how to deal with flashbacks?

Have you told them how you feel?
The most important and helpful thing with flashbacks is to try grounding skills so that you can talk through them later.
I'm here if you ever want to message me :)
The best thing for my flashbacks is what I call "four walls". You look at the wall in front of you, repeat, "I am (your name), I am now (age), and I am currently in (place). There is no risk of harm to me in this moment and I am safe.", take a few deep breaths, then go to the next wall and repeat.
It's pulled me back to the current reality and has saved me from spiraling quite a few times.
