Hi! New to this group
Hey! I had not been feeling myself for as long as I can remember, I searched and searched to try to see what my symptoms meant and I thought it was Bpd. I finally worked up the courage to speak about it with my dad and got help. Turns out I have c-ptsd. I think what my problem was is that I was blocking out my past trying to forget so I think it sorta made me in denial. I remembered 2 things that have happened to me until I journaled. One of the main things that happened to me is SA when I was really young. I realized that in that part of traumatic events it was 4 different times that things happened. I also learned that other things can be considered traumatic events/ experiences that no one talks about and now everything makes so much more sense. I have been through 5 different types of traumatic events. This feels random to be talking about but I’m proud of myself for reaching out and I’m happy I finally know what’s been making me feel this way. I’m hoping that this group will help me on my healing journey.
To anyone that doesn’t feel like themselves and is struggling to figure out what’s wrong, don’t give up! You got this.
has anyone else blocked out trauma to where they were sorta in denial?
Welcome, Current!
You will certainly find a great community here! I have definitely experienced a lot of what you’re describing. I’m so glad you were able to detect that something was off and reach out for help before reaching a crisis point like I did. Despite all the research and self development I did, ptsd never entered my mind until it came out of my psychiatrist’s mouth. Suddenly, like you mentioned, The stars aligned and it all made sense. I have also experienced many forms of trauma.
Are you considering medication or a specific type of therapy?
Enjoy your stay!
