Invisible injury(CPtsd)trigger warning
Does anyone feel like cptsd is so terribly invisible? If I had a cast on my arm ppl would hold doors and help and be sympathetic. Ppl can't see the injury, they don't understand why your struggling so much, and if you tell them about your injury they look at you differently(like your broken or defective), so you don't tell ppl. At least this is my experience. My symptoms interfered badly at my job and sadly I had to leave it. Ppl don't understand what CPtsd is and how it affects you and your daily life. It's not a mental illness it's an injury. It's one of the hardest things to deal with. We are not different- we are injured. I guess I just needed to say it . Thx for listening. ABB💜
@amiableBlackberry92 This is so true. It affects everything. It makes it hard to trust people. It makes it hard just to be comfortable in your own skin. You end up watching everyone. Your sleep is messed up because of nightmares. Triggers can be unpredictable and can cause flashbacks. Anxiety some days is so bad you practically jump out of your skin - other days the depression is so bad you hardly have the energy to breathe. It's hell. Our own personal hell
I'm sorry for what you've gone through - I truly am and I hope one day you find peace and healing. I hope one day we all do
Be gentle with yourself and your thoughts
