PTSD dissociation
New here, 39F, I'm disabled, complex ptsd from child abuse and an abusive past marriage with a narcissist.
I've working hard on healing with therapy, EMDR, self discovery etc... as new memories and realizations come up, new triggers arise, I'm dissosociative, stuck in "freeze mode".
It's hard to stay grounded in my own body and space when I never feel safe, or real... my life feels like the movie "The Truman Show" (Jim Carrey) or "Click" (Adam Sandler) depending on the moment.
Currently I spend alot of time alone during the week days and there's no one to process this new stuff with in between therapy sessions. I'm hoping I can find other women here who can relate.

Hi! It sounds like you are doing a lot of good therapy work. The gaps between therapy can be long and isolating, when we have stuff to process. On 7 cups you can enter keywords when you search for listeners, e.g. "cPTSD" "EMDR" "narcissism" or anything else. You can message as many listeners as you want and explain what you are looking for and find someone right for you. https://www.7cups.com/BrowseListeners/
Hi I am sorry to hear you have been dealing w so much. I know how hard it can be. I see how much effort you are putting in to make life more manageable. It's a tough battle that not many people understand. I'm here w you. We have a similar background, childhood trauma and narcissistic relationship, among others for me. 32F. I have been dissociating for years. I'm just now realizing how much. Staying present is a struggle I can only do it for a few seconds at a time some days. It can feel very uncomfortable and lonely and kind of scary at times. You are not alone, we are here w you 💜
