So much abuse in one person

When I was but a baby I was taken away from my parents and placed in foster care. I did not know this until I turned 7 in the foster care system, when I got adopted. There I was raped by my own adopted brother for six long years. Later I learned that I was taken away because I was sexual abused and physically abused. I got into fights during this time, that I now know was a way of acting out. That is until I became the one who was being bullied.

When I became an adult my longest relationships were abusive, minus the one I am in now. I suffered from depression, anxiety, and PTSD in both my waking and sleeping hours. It wasn't until recently that I found out what triggered that sort of thing. The abusive relationships did, also known as toxic relationships. When I left the bad relationship I went on a path of self-discovery and even rekindled with an ex from my childhood and now we have a beautiful daughter together. I don't have anymore depression, anxiety, or PTSD. All of it went away because I changed my negative thinking in positive thinking. It wasn't easy and took me four years to really master it. The best phrase I told myself was I can and I will do this for myself.

Proud of you-this is awesome. it is extremely hard to find self worth and self love after being abused in any way. We must not let ourselves believe we are only worth the pain. It's up to us to find happiness within ourselves. Hard but not impossible. it takes time.
