When I was in high school I was in a manipulative romantic relationship with someone significantly older than me. This was two years ago and the trauma still keeps me up at night and lives with me every day. This is the only place I’ve had the courage to say anything. How do I find closure?

@pennyroyaltea13

It's so brave of you to open up here..I'm sorry you had to go through that *offers hugs and strength*heart

Lets view the definition of closure: "Finding closure implies a complete acceptance of what has happened and an honoring of the transition away from what's finished to something new."

A few ways to achieve closure after a traumatic experience includes:

~Being honest to oneself about what happened and not denying the truth.

~Give yourself plenty of time to work on the situation. There's no right or wrong way to feel and there's no hurry either.

~Surround yourself with positive thoughts and people.

~Focusing on the present and staying grounded in the moment.

Here is a post that details out the points I mentioned and may prove to be of use to you: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/in-flux/201104/5-ways-find-closure-the-past

Take care of yourself, always~Sierraheart
