resurfacing memories
I don't know if I per se have PTSD because I want to see if I can get a proper diagnosis by a doctor. However, I'm almost sure I have trauma. I have this weird thing where I forget about traumatic memories and I get surprised when they resurface because of a reminder or something that triggered the memory. I feel guilty about it because I feel I should just forget what happened. I should just move on from what happened but it shows to be not that easy.
I witnessed violence as a child and I still live with my abuser(father) (though they aren't physical anymore) I still have memories coming back from childhood. he's is trying to be nice to me. why can't I just forget????

I understand your situation well as a woman and as a daughter. You have been very strong in identifying and writing down your emotions. It takes a brave soul to see your unwanted experiences in front of you everyday and see the positives in them.
However if your are not sure whether its a PTSD or something else,I would suggest you engage yourself speaking to mentors or online forums so that you have better understanding and validation at your end.
I was a shy and a complete introvert person and approaching my inner emotions and sharing them with someone was the biggest hurdle at my end. However writing and reading about things that reflected my issues helped me understand myself more and let me move on ahead.
Trust me you are very strong and brave .Keep going strong and things will be fine. Lemme know in case you need any help on the same.
