Done with Brock Turner
I'm growing pretty tired of seeing Brock Turner's face all over media ALL THE DAMN TIME. I'm glad he's getting the public humiliation he deserves because the system failed at serving justice, but the similarities between that case and what has happened to me and countless other women is so freaking triggering. It also makes me mad, because what happened with that case, is pretty much what would've happened in mine or worse if I had not taken a deal to just drop the case as long as he does community service and goes to COUNSELING. Heck, I got him to "confess" though right? I hate this and I hate that there is no justice in this world. But we just have to #keepgoing and maintain the #positivefocus. I've healed a lot since then. I won't let my RAPIST or Brock Turner the RAPIST tear me down again. I'm glad I've found a great community here at 7 cups.

Thank you so much for this post <3 After any traumatic event, our brain has a way of keeping it in our minds, but the high profile nature of this case means that those who have suffered sexual assault have no choice to keep on being reminded of what happened to them, and my heart absolutely goes out to you. I'm really proud of you for refusing to let this story get in the way of your recovery - you're stronger than you know. <3
