Don't know what to do

I guess this has something to do with sexual assault and abuse. It's been affecting me a lot. When I was 13-14 I met this man who was in his 20s. He and I got close and I being a curious child during puberty and he being a grown man we started basically sexting (sexual roleplays). He said he had a fiance, I asked if she minded, he said she didn't. Thankfully I didn't send any pictures but he did show me one. I look back at this and deeply regret it, now I really feel like I'm just not ready to grow up and give my consent to anyone even though I'm almost at the age of consent. I don't know how to get over this.

At some point you'll have to learn to forgive yourself. I know it's not easy but in order for you to move on with your life you'll need to. I am not here to tell you what to do, but i know a lot about regret and it's a terrible weight to carry. When you choose a partner you have to choose carefully. Know what you want in a man and set your standards high because you are worth a lot and deserve someone that will treat you good. It doesn't matter how old you are. You can be 40 and I would be telling you the same exact thing. There is no shame in admitting your mistakes but you also have to aknowlede that that was a two way street. It was not your fault.

@RubyInTheSky Thanks for that. I know what he did was wrong and I wish young people like me would be protected against people like him, but as I get older I see that changing and it sucks.
