@ajz0904

I'm not able to talk about things either...But, I'm always here. Even if we don't know each other.

Breathe. Stick with the facts, write if necessary, before talking. You're not guilty of what happened.

@ajz0904 Hey

Sometimes I found that if I use the words you or yours instead of me or I. Sometimes it's allmost as if I'm telling a story. A horrible story but a story. It can be really hard to open up and talk about what you've been through. Even though it's anonymous here - we still know it's us behind these screens and avatars. Be patient with yourself. You could start a diary or journal for yourself here and maybe start that way? There are alot of people here that understand what you're going through. You aren't alone

Be gentle with yourself and your thoughts

Sending hugs your way. I've been there, as well, when I was younger. I went through a lot of trauma after my parents divorced when I was nine years old that I didn't want to share with anyone as I was maturing. I purposely avoided making friends so that no one would come to my house. I was too embarrassed. I put on a brave face and appeared to be balanced, successful, had it all together through my 20's. And then when I turned 30, I finally had no choice but to reveal my secret to someone. Come to find out I was not alone.. For almost 20 years I was in agony in silence. Once I spoke my truth, it went out into the world, found compassion with listeners and then evaporated. I was left with a feeling of being surrounded by love. The weight was lifted. I forget that feeling of that release.

I'm 55 now and myself a listener paying that love forward. Just wanted to share that with you. That you're not alone in whatever you're going through.

I admire your courage and strength to reach out. You couldn't of found a better place to do that. 7 Cups is a giant safety blanket community around the world offering love to break your fall. Peace be with you.

Hi, thanks for your post. I am so glad you found a way through your experiences and pain. I am new to this website, I am trying to figure out a way through myself.

A key problem I have is I can't connect with my emotions but I am told my head and emotions need to connect. I either have intense feelings with no way of articulating what is happening or feeling of control, or I am mostly in a numb hardened state, and try to keep my thoughts rational and factual.

I don't know how to make it happen, I am in therapy but I feel like a nightmare client and like I am being difficult, which I don't want to be but I can't seem to get the connection. When I am in the room I feel super awkward and just can't enter into the process, or whatever.

I just wondered if you could relate or had any advice.

Sorry for the long message.

Thanks

It's been nearly five years. I'm still coming to terms with it all. I physically can't talk about it. My mouth won't make the words. To tell my partner, I started off with a vague verbal implication and then wrote out the rest. If you can't verbalize it right now, perhaps writing might be easier for you.

I agree with most of the previous posters about revealing little by little to someone. It took me a long time to be able to tell anyone anything. Everything was kept secret and I couldn't imagine telling anyone. I have still barely talked about it and to very few people but it's getting easier than it was a couple years ago. It takes time as well as patience with yourself. I'm glad to see you here! It means you're ready to acknowledge what happen and start working on moving on. Your time will come when you can talk more about it, but don't try to rush into it if you're not ready I would say. We are all here for you when you need us!
