Is it a legitimate concern?
Hi, i'm new here and I'm 17. When I was about 7 or maybe 8 I was 'molested' forced to do sexual things to someone I thought Icould trust and was 'close' to. I haven't told anyone, I've repressed it for so many years and would only recall it every now and again but now i can't stop remembering it, was it even molestation? i didn't scream or anything but i didn't really know what was happening or that it was wrong. The guilt eats me inside, i'm not sure i can ever have a normal relationship and whats worse is that i see the person that did it every day. I feel that i'm the one in the wrong and i don't know what to do, i don't think i could ever tell anyone and i don't know why. I feel so guilty.
Hey just letting you know I'm 17 and I've been through what you've experience, talking about this was very difficult I had professional help when I was 13 and it is long and emotional process but extremely satisfying as I can now start my life without it holding me back.
I am so sorry to hear something like that has happened to you :/ I cannot even imagine what it must be like to be going through this. I know that the words of a stranger don't really mean much, but please know that whatever happened when you were a child, none of that was your fault. There is no reason for you to feel guilty. I think that the first step to recovery might be realizing that you did nothing wrong, even though it might be extremely difficult after all this time of the guilt eating you up. Thank you for coming to 7 cups to talk about this, that was really brave of you! Don't hesitate to connect to a listener for a 1-1 chat, if you'd like. Take care!
@conscientousthinker89, I know 100 per cent how you feel. When I was 5 and again when I was 12 I was sexually molested by my dad. I went to a counselor this past summer for something totally unrelated, but my Counselor got the molestation thing from me totally out of the blue. I dont know how she knew. I will say like Barush and the others said, you have no reason to feel guilty. You, totally fid nothing wrong!!!
Whyme I have read ur replies in so many forums and I just wanted to say how sorry I am for the unfortunate events that happened in your life and how brave you are to encourage people to move on and to fight aa u do.
@politecup86, thank you so much for your response. That means a lot to me. You made my day from that. You also brought tears to my eyes to know that there are people out there that think what I have to say is meaningful. I thank you for noticing . I hope you have the best day ever. :) :) :)
@whyme11 ohhhhhh you made my day also. I relate a lot to ur situation. I had a car accident and was molested as a child but it is alright. To see ppl like u always remind me to be strong for me . I'm 28 now and I made it that far :D and of course u r noticed as u have a very nice nick name and nice replys
