My sexual assault happend a year ago on Tuesday and i have pretty much ignored it and pretended it didn’t happen.. until I started noticing it has affected me more than I was willing to admit.. with the anniversary coming up I’ve been a complete mess.. I’ve isolated myself pushed away my boyfriend to the point that he has left me I just don’t know what to do or where to go from here

Hello I'm kindcherry2. I'm so sorry to hear that this happened to you. Suppressing your trauma doesn't help and can make things worse. I know it seems like the best option. But it really isn't. Yes, I'm not surprised all those feeling came back. With this you can feel a wide range of emotions along with feeling completely numb at times. I understand that you're struggling with your thoughts and emotions with the anniversary coming up. It's not good to push away people when you feel like this. It just leaves you with your thoughts and feeling which can become really negative. After all I'm sure your boyfriend wants to help you and support you during this time of remembering your past trauma. It is understandable that you feel lost and don't what to do. It is a dreadful date for you. Have you considered therapy to process this trauma? If you haven't, I would really suggest that. If you ever need to talk connect to a listener, we are here. I unfortunately don't take chats on this topic. But I do hope you find a listener that you trust and can talk to. I hope you feel better and please stay safe. ❤️
