My girlfriends trauma

My girlfriend got raped few years ago. She went to short term trauma therapy which has ended already. She doesn't want any more help but I think she is not doing well. She suffers anxiety, panic and nightmares every week.

I have my own severe problems (depression, anxiety, self harm) and I try to be supportive but I'm very tired. I am also woman so my girlfriends trauma feels very awful and I can't even think about it without getting in very awful state myself.

@MKeltainen Hi MK, thanks for posting and Im sorry for the delay in anyone responding. Thank you for sharing what happened to your partner. Its good that she got help (at least some) to begin to work through her experiences but it sounds as if shes not ready to enter into further therapy for now. Have you been able to share your concerns with her, how your worried that she's not doing so good? How did she find the last therapy she had.

When trauma happens to someone, it doesnt just affect the person who it has happened to, but it also affects those around them too, and it can be hard on partners to know how to support their loved one. It also sounds from your post that your have your own issues that your dealing with too and its important for you to get support for yourself when you need it. Theres always someone here who would be willing to chat to you. There are also helplines for partners to seek support themselves and perhaps counselling for the two of you if you both felt this was an option worth considering.
