I'm really struggling. I was sexually assaulted 2 months by someone that I know nothing about... Only his first name. I went to the hospital after it happened but the nurses said that I was too distraught and refused to do a rape kit so no evidence was collected. I'm terrified it's going to happen again... He knows where I live because it happened at my home. I'm feeling like I'm constantly in a panic. I'm having terrible nightmares and panic attacks. I just want my life back but I feel like my world is spinning. I'm connected with two therapists that I see weekly but I feel like it's not enough. I just want it all to stop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

That's absolutely awful that that's happened to you, feeling that it could happen again will only compound the stress and anxiety you already feel that's not great for your wellbeing. There will / should be local support services where you live like 'rapecrisis.org.uk/'. The important thing to remember is that you are not alone, they can provide various types of support to you. Organizations such as 'rapecrisis' can advise on reporting the matter to the police, but it's your decision. Just because evidence hasn't been collected doesn't mean that it can't be reported to the police. The police should deal with you sympathetically and with understanding. It might be the case that the perpetrator might have a criminal past. The police might install a 'panic button', that will help with the immediate fear you face. You need to stay strong and remember you are not alone.
