Thought I was ok
I thought I was fine, really I did. I put it past me. But then my daughter unknowingly brought said person up and now I’m having panic attacks, flash backs, anxiety, mood swings, trying to hide it is making it worse. My need to drink is coming back. Clearly I wasn’t over it. But I need to move past it.

Many times after a traumatic event we tend to put our feelings in a bottle and seal it shut, we then think everything is ok and we never have to deal with it again. As a male child who was sexually abused by another much older boy, I bottled my hatred up and put it away. I would go through violent rages throughout my teenage years and diagnosed as being everything from psychotic to bipolar. It wasn't until years later through court-ordered therapy did I begin to learn how to deal with my emotions about those horrible times then I began to lose that rage. It took many years of living like a wounded animal before I got therapy hopefully it won't take that long for you and you can find peace within yourself
