Waves of Trauma

I feel broken. I feel like I’m drowning.

I left an abusive relationship in January. He would rape me and strangle me till I was unconscious. And I’ve really been struggling to cope since then. 3 weeks ago I was assaulted and raped by a different guy. I feel stuck in darkness. Depressed. Anxiety all the time. I don’t like being alone. But I don’t like being around people. I

don’t sleep and when I do I have night terrors. Is this PTSD? How do I know?

Im scared that everyone wants to hurt me. Im scared it will never get better. I don’t know how to keep healing from all this pain. I question myself if I’m doing the right thing a lot.

I go to therapy but I still feel lost. And I feel empty.

I just feel alone.

@stardrip I sympathize with your encounter. These bad things happened. You are really unfortunate. I hope you can get rid of this trouble sooner. I think you'd better find some psychologists

@stardrip

Hey Stardrip,

I'm sorry you are feeling like you're drowning right now. I'm glad to hear that you have left the abusive relationship that you were in. What he did to you was never your fault and you never deserved it. I understand why you have been struggling to cope since then and I know this isn't an easy topic to talk about so I'm glad you reached out to 7 cups for support. That shows how strong and brave you are. It's understandable that you don't want to be alone or around people for the fear of them hurting you. Unfortunately there are people out there that want to hurt other people and it is sad. I'm sorry to hear another guy did the same thing to you 3 weeks ago. I would understand how that would trigger your past experiences and give you night terrors. People a lot of times with trauma develop anxiety and depression.. To find out if you have PTSD I would suggest going to your doctor or even your therapist for an assessment on that. Things will get better it just takes a long journey of patience and time. I want you to know that you're not alone and that many women out there know what it feels like. Please take care and stay safe.

Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to respond. I’m really happy I found 7 cups. I feel less alone with the support here. I just feel so up and down sometimes but it’s good to know it’s all normal.
