Worried about a flashback
TW: Assault https://www.7cups.com/forum/TraumaSupport_60/ComplexTraumaPTSD_786/AmnotsureifthisisAbuseorPTSDsomeonehelpTWofexplicitrecountofassault_228536/ Hi. I have referenced one of my earlier posts in this (I am not sure if I am allowed to do this). Basically, I have some kind of a flashback or something every few months. But for the last few months, I haven't had any relapses. It's like the memories of that incident are locked in a tight box and cannot be opened. I feel good, not having the constant worry and reliving the trauma but at the same time, I am worried that I haven't had a flashback in so long and that something might open the floodgates and I end up more depressed than before. Has anyone experienced this? Is this normal? How do I deal with this?
I definitely understand this isn’t the same thing. I experience something that is beyond flashbacks at this point. It feels so real during the encounters with people who hurt me that I think that they are actually talking to me and ripping open the walls and stuff. In reality the walls are in tact and they have never been here with me. I’m so sorry you are experiencing what you are going through. I understand that feeling of not knowing when something is going to happen and it’s definitely terrifying.
@straightforwardLion2317 yeah. I kinda get what you mean. Sometimes, I have really horrible dreams about various instances of the same thing (that I mentioned in the post). I used to be so scared to go to sleep because of not knowing what I might dream. Anyway, I hope you feel better and I'm sorry that you also have to deal with stuff like this :(
