When I was around 11 my bio mom's boyfriend at the time he would rub my back till I fell asleep which is normal, but one night as soon as I fell asleep I could feel his hand creep up the front of my shirt and he grabbed my breast for a second or two my eyes popped open he saw and quickly took his hand out my shirt and I closed my eyes hoping that didn't just happen. Someone I was once friends with told me that that wasn't anything sa related and that I should call myself a victim because I'm not one. Was she right?

@emotionalShade3851

Thank you for sharing with us. I am not a professional therapist, but my understanding is that one aspect of the definition of sa is when someone intentionally sexually touches another person without consent... That is only part of the longer definition, but it made me think about what you posted.

Hope that helps

@emotionalShade3851 SA or other related incidents do not have to be strictly physical for you to be considered a "victim". The fact that a grown man even thought about touching a minor is wrong in itself, but to act upon it is much worse. You could also think of it as, the moment he saw that you had noticed when he touched you, and promptly pulled away, shows that he was trying to be nonchalant or secretive about his actions because he knew they were wrong.

Regardless, your emotions are valid, and if what he did is something that has stuck with you in a negative way, then nobody should invalidate those feelings.
