broken Hope
What is hope? Hope by dictionary is A feeling of expectation or desire, for a certain thing to happen!
Hope by my defintion, Hope is the feeling that brings you down, Hope is a feeling that means you want something so bad and hope for it but that thing never comes, and it hurts you so bad, That is why i call it broken hope, Because just like me, It is broken.
I get so tired of hoping for the best, I hope it'll get better, I hope for the pain to stop, for the thoughts to go away, but it does not stop! Then people tell me "Just hold onto that tiny bit of hope left" I have broken hope, Hope is not a thing, When you hope you get hurt that is why the words are so similiar, Hope will not help you. Hope will hurt you!
You wake up one morning, You hope it will be a good day, everything bad starts happening you go off to school and it starts to pour rain, You slip and fall in your new jeans, You go home and you're father or mother yell at you just becuase of that little mud spot on your knee, You hope for it all to be okay and then in the long run it is not okay, it will never be okay
I hope everday for my father to not hurt me for my body to not be used, for me to be human instead of object but that does not happen, Why should I have hope when I knoiw it is just gonna hit me harder when what I hoped for doesn't happen

Sometimes I wait for nothing to happen because if nothing happens I don't get disappointed, after all it is what I was expecting. The real surprise comes when something good happens, that's trully unexpected and can feel good, but it never happens so I don't keep my expectations on it.
I'm so sorry about all the things that are going on in your life. You're an incredibly supportive girl and you deserve the best. Please hang in there, little broccoli 💖

You are absolutely right to feel this way. What you say justifies 100% your idea.
And you are in very good company. Some of the brightest thinkers in history, from ancient to contemporary, have affirmed that hope is plain bad.

I have some disagreements with this idea. As I have to make a case alternative to your very solid one, and that of very strong thinkers of all ages, it will take me a little long to explain myself.
First I understand "hope" as a wish and an aspiration without a specific time, vs. "hope" as an expectation that something will happen at a definite time.
For example "I hope that someday, every person on this planet will have enough to eat and a decent place to live" (aspiration) vs. "I hope that next year, world poverty will go down 20%" (expectation).
I feel that the useful meaning of hope is that of an aspiration, the (maybe irrational) wish put in an indefinite future, that things will be OK.
In this sense, I do hope that someday, every person on this planet will have enough to eat and a decent place to live.
I will never lose this hope. Nothing can change it.
And what's most important, this hope is the motivation (for many people) to move in that direction. To make the effort to make things better no matter what.
The emphasis is on the aspiration and the effort, not on the result.
This is what, to me, differentiates the concept of "hope" from that of a prediction or an expectation.
"Hope" is not an expectation, but an attitude that leads us to act rather than despair under the worst circumstances.
This is what makes "hope" useful and valid in my view.
Enough for my argument that there is something good in hope depending on how one understands it.
Now.
I was extremely concerned by your last paragraph, telling that your father hurts you, that your body is used as a thing, and you are treated as an object.
What you imply with all of this is very, very serious. It brought tears to my eyes.
Have you contacted any organization, government agency, legal system office, or specialized police branch to deal with your situation ?
Can I help you in any way to get this kind of assistance where you live ? I have enough time and some resources to deal with this, so I am serious about it.
Please let me know of your situation and how I could help you do something to make things at least a little better.

I don't want to make you feel like I'm invalidating you, that's the last thing I want to do. But hope, not as an expectation but as an aspiration, is not a bad thing to have. In fact, as WelcomeToChat says, it is a motivation to achieve some goals. And I have hope in you. I see an opportunity to change everything. I see an opportunity to get better, and I know it iwll be a very hard path to walk, but you won't walk it alone.
