Hey Genesis. I'm sorry you had to go through this and struggle even after 15 years.

I do understand your situation and if you need someone to talk to; feel free to buzz me for a chat. I couldn't really provide you with answers but I am willing to hear you out and probably we could work together through this. =)

I think the idea of feeling whole and the idea of closure are ideals. Some of us may be lucky to have closure or feel whole, but the majority of people walking around feel empty in some way, have unfinished and unresolved emotions, they just don't let on, or we imagine we are alone in our feelings. Don't be hard on yourself for feeling shame, guilt, empty - you are so much more than that one thing. You have talents and love to give, you help others and have good thoughts. You are valuable. Try to focus on the good that you are and have the potential for.

YES, YES, YES, YES, YES! Shame can go away!
It may be a long process for some, but I assure you, it can happen!
And I truly hope that you can find a way for it to happen for you!
I really hope that you are able to find adequate support to be able to overcome your feelings of shame. I cannot speak highly enough of how seeing a trauma counsellor has helped me with this process. And if you feel as though seeing one may be beneficial to you, that can be a positive place to work on your healing journey.
And 7 cups will always be here to support you through your dark days! You are absolutely not alone in this!

I find that shame comes and goes. Sometimes I feel it more than others, but other times I don't feel it at all.

One thing that some people find helpful is connecting with other survivors, either for support or advocacy and empowerment. Finding ways to feel empowered can be especially helpful, as empowerment is almost the opposite of shame.
