my uncle
back in 2017, i was sexually assaulted by my maternal uncle. this happened 5 days after my mother's death, so i was already very vulnerable. my closest friends and family know about what happened. it's been well over 4 years since i last saw him, but he still appears in my dreams to this day. i dream that i am at a family reunion, and someone always manages to invite him despite knowing what he did to me. i've tried telling him to go away, but i know this is a thing in my subconscious that i apparently haven't let go of (i never think of him when i am awake, but he just shows up in my dreams). i wake up in a cold sweat or with tears streaming down my face.
It doesn’t have to be something that you think about for it to come in your dreams, it could be because it was something traumatic to you and did damage to yourself that your subconscious still remembers. I can relate to this very well. Im sorry to hear about your mother, and about what your uncle did to you..
