what do i do now
today is my birthday. i am 19 years old. i was on the phone with planned parenthood today in order to get my bc back on. they asked me if i had been assaulted or forced into sexual intercourse in my life. i lied.
my brothers sexually abused me from age 4 to 13. almost ten years. i was incredibly confused and hurt the entire time and just when i thought it was over, it just started all over again. my mom doesn’t believe me. so i left when i was 16. i take care of myself. the one person who i thought would believe me was my mom. she didn’t care. i’m not going to press charges. i’m not going to pursue this or bring it up anymore. i think it just hurts because my brothers just act like it never happened. i’m uncomfortable around my entire family. i only started being myself when i was without my family.
i don’t know what to do. i don’t want to completely cut them off. my little sister is nice. i don’t think i have the resources myself to cut them off. i am now trying to just get through college.
Happy belated birthday to you Vanta. My heart goes out to you and anyone else who has been sexually assaulted, especially by their loved ones who were supposed to protect them from any harm or danger. It hurts the most when it's someone we least expect, but please don't put any blame on yourself. You are not to blame for their actions or what they did to you. If you're not able to cut them off or find it hard to do, would create distance between you and their help, even just a bit?
