What You Think About Yourself Is All That Matters

November 21st, 2017

When a person is bullied, they may be criticized, or put down for various reasons. They may be insulted for their appearance, race, having a disability, their sexual orientation, etc. Nobody deserves bullying, and what other people think about you doesn't matter. A bully may call you fat, ugly, crazy, retarded, etc., but none of this matters. All that matters is what you think about yourself.

A bully will always have their own personal set of reasons for bullying you, and it doesn't have anything to do with you. They may want to cause emotional harm to those who are different from them; they may want to feel powerful and bolster themselves up; they may be taking out their personal issues onto others, etc.

Strive to ignore what a bully says or does to you, and seek positive coping methods for yourself. Continually remind yourself of your talents, positive traits, and strengths. What you think about yourself is the only thing which is truly important.

Any comments are welcome.

@StrengthFromWithin

Hey strength, thanks for this post. I'm sure 14 year old me would have loved to hear/read this. It's so easy to forget when we are being bullied that the issue is them, not us (in most cases).

Hope you're doing alright ^^
