You Are Not Alone

May 27th, 2017

It is important for one to realize, that they are not alone in being bullied. Many people around the world are coping with bullying, and for a large variety of reasons. These can include having disabilities (mental health, intellectual, physical) and being perceived as being "different," appearance, race, gender, sexual orientation, social status, etc.

If you are being bullied, know that there are many people out there, and even on this site, who are or have been bullied for the same characteristics as yourself. There is no reason to feel ashamed. You are not alone in this. Nobody deserves maltreatment, for any reason. You are a valuable person, and you have a lot to offer to this world. From beauty, talent, intelligence, strength, perseverance, etc., you have many positive traits and are perfect just the way you are.

Stay strong...you will get through this.

When your a victim of bullying, you can be extremely traumatised by your experiences, and may feel very alone. Sadly there are many people who are victims of bullies and a lot of damage can be done. You may have suffered in silence, or you may have reached out for help. It is never your fault, if you have suffered bullying. The responsibility lies firmly on those who have chosen for whatever their reasons to hurt you. Comforting words, may not be enough completely to solve the problem, but I hope it can help to show that someone cares. It can be hard when your going through the experience of bullying to believe that there will be an end to it, that some sense of normality can return. Perhaps knowing others care, and are here for you will give you a sense of hope that things can change for you, and for the better.. If you can, dont suffer alone, reach out for support, tell a close friend or relative, or someone from a support agency so you can begin to heal from your experiences.

Bullies use a variety of tactics when attacking and harassing their victims. They tear down a persons defenses and can devastate their sense of security leaving them vulnerable and confused. To achieve their goal of total control a bully, may take dramatic measures causing the victim to harm themselves or even commit suicide. Children and teens who are constantly being bullied can lose a large portion of their childhood to the stress and strain of being made into a victim. Discover more Words of Comfort to give victims of bullying.

Words of comfort can help victims begin to move past the trauma of being stalked or hounded by a bully. Comforting words for loss may be the only thing a grieving parent has left after a loved one commits suicide or harms themselves after being bullied. Although they are only words and will not take the place of their loved one, they are something that can offer a small glimmer of hope in an otherwise dark and trying time.

One of the most important ways a bully or their loved ones can make amends with a bullying victim is to offer words of comfort for loss as well as general support. For many victims, a simple apology is all they need or want. While others may seek financial or other types of compensation, the simple act of the bully saying they are sorry and asking for forgiveness is more than enough for some. It also helps that when the apology is given, the person offering it is truly sincere and apologetic for their actions.

Those who have a good, strong, positive support system around them will be able to begin the healing process and it can help knowing there is someone there who understands and who can appreciate what you have gone through. It is extremely important forto be able to share your experiences, your feelings, which can be the first step to healing from the hurt inflicted upon you. Recognizing the things that happened and being able to deal with them over time will help to begin to put them in the past where they can no longer hurt you to the same degree that things may hurt right now.

Dont suffer alone smiley
