You Are Stronger Than You Think

May 30th, 2017

After having been bullied, one can choose see the experience in a positive light, in which they have been given an opportunity to grow personally, and to develop their levels of inner strength.

You are stronger than you think. You have the capacity to get past these negative experiences. The bullying which occurred, had nothing to do with you. It had everything to do with a bully/ies' personal reasons, motives, and choices. You can choose not to take the negative comments, or actions personally. You did not deserve them; they were not your fault.

You have a unique purpose to offer to this world. Focus on what your passions are, what you enjoy to do, and what you are good at doing. Focus on the people in your life who matter to you, and who support you in positive ways, whom you can trust. Bullies are strangers, who have no place in negatively interfering in your life.

Stay strong; you will get past this.

@IsabelleJ

I was just talking about this ☺ It's so strange how they pretend to know so much, just so they can try crushing you. Hoooooowever.... ☺ I think when you've been in abusive (mentally/emotionally) situations most of your life you learn to say what you don't mind anyone knowing. The rest only comes out with people you've grown to know/trust.

I try to learn and grow through everything, even the "bad."

@IsabelleJ Thanks for sharing this! Isn't it so true. I was thinking about this just today reading facebook. I have a "friend" who for some reason likes to instigate fights among his peers and can be quite demeaning. And as a therapist I thought "hmmm why does he need so much attention". I feel that often that's why these bulies act that way. And it is most definitly NOT about the person who is on the receiving end. But in that moment of being bullied its hard to see that. Alot of bullies have that nack of finding the one thing that bothers us and hurting us by it. But ignoring them as best you can and not giving them the attention they crave is a big step.

Thank you for sharing this insight. Victims should try not to blame themselves for bullying behaviour towards them, and as you said, ignore it as much as possible
