About to loss my job

, just now my boss told me that we are low on funds, and cannot extend my contract that ends in 5 months. Devastated because (1) I work in a highly competitive field, and not getting an extension could look like a dent on my CV (some may think i couldn't stay because I am underperforming), also our career success are highly tied to work that takes months to complete, not getting an extension means killed momentum and wasted time, (2) the job market is terrible right now with this economy, it is very hard to find another job in just a few months
