Brothers passing/ dad has dementia

I don’t even know where to begin. First I’ll start with my brother. I just lost him suddenly and unexpectedly on December 18th 2021, one week before his 37th birthday on Christmas Day. He was an alcoholic and tried many times to quit but just couldn’t do it. On 12/18 he said he felt really weird and moments later collapsed on the floor and that was it :’( they tried to revive him but they couldn’t. His wife and 8 year old son witnessed it and his poor child is devastated and heartbroken just like the rest of us (but he actually saw it happen!!) long story short, he went into cardiac arrest because his electrolytes dropped EXTREMELY low, from constant vomiting and not replenishing his electrolytes. I literallly CANNOT believe it. If he had just stayed hydrated, he would still be here. I miss him sooooooo much and I don’t know how to cope with this HUGE loss. We did so much together. And now on top of that, my dad has frontal temporal dementia (which we knew for a little while now ) but he went to see his neurologist and he seemed to think he’s in the “end stage” and has 3 months to a year left 😢😢😢💔💔💔😭😭 I can’t even express how AWFUL I am feeling right now. My family is more than my family.. they’re my very best friends. We all do everything together. Every summer we go to Hampton beach together and have the greatest time. They’re my reasons for everything.. for trying to go on. And now I feel like I’m losing my family and I’m beyond heartbroken and I’m so so scared. How is this my reality ? And WHY?!?! Losing my parents and brother has always been my top fear and I can’t believe its happened/happening. I literally am in shambles and don’t know what to do with myself. Somebody PLEASE please help me 😢😢😢😢

Dear @scarletPine2144

I can't imagine what you must be going through. I'm so sorry for your loss.

It must be hard for your family since your father is suffering from dementia too. You can reach out to me or any other listeners here if you like. We're here.

Sending more power and love to you and your family❤️

@scarletPine2144 I know it would be difficult to accept these harsh realities. And if I were you I would have felt the same way. Please take care of yourself and your family ❤️
