Who are you beyond your responsibilities?

Sometimes, we become so accustomed to fulfilling responsibilities, meeting expectations, and being there for others that we forget to ask ourselves a simple question:

Who am I when nobody needs anything from me?

Our responsibilities are important, but they don’t define everything about us.

We are also our interests, our memories, our dreams, our sense of humor, and the little things that make us feel connected to life.

For those who have spent years serving others, adapting to demanding environments, or navigating major life transitions, rediscovering personal interests and identities can be especially meaningful.

You don’t have to accomplish something extraordinary to appreciate who you are outside of your responsibilities.

I’d love to hear from you:

What’s one hobby, interest, or activity that makes you feel connected to yourself?

It could be something you already enjoy or something you’ve been wanting to try.

Sometimes, sharing these little pieces of ourselves is a beautiful way to connect with others.

Wow, AsherTree! That’s quite an achievement! I can imagine how much dedication, practice, and determination it must have taken to reach that level, especially in a competitive game like Mortal Kombat!

I really like that you shared this because it’s a wonderful example of how our interests and personal achievements can become meaningful parts of our identity.

And now I’m curious! What was that experience like for you back in 1994? Do you still enjoy playing video games today, or has your passion for gaming changed over the years?

Thank you for sharing this part of your story with us!
