Honoring Service, Healing Together: A Veterans & Remembrance Day Reflection
by SoulfullyAButterfly
Last post
November 27th, 2025
...See more Veterans Day (in the US) and Remembrance Day (in other Commonwealth nations), is a powerful time to pause, reflect, and honor the immense sacrifice and service of veterans and military families worldwide. This day is about more than just remembering; it's about acknowledging the full scope of their experience, including the courage and dedication shown during their service, and the often-challenging journey of healing and reintegration afterward. Service members and veterans carry unique burdens, and it’s vital that as a community, we create space for understanding, empathy, and genuine support. We honor their service best by recognizing their continued strength and by actively fostering an environment where seeking help is seen as a sign of resilience, not weakness. Whether you are a veteran, a family member, a service member, or a civilian supporter, your voice and reflections are important here. Feel welcome to leave a kind word or message of support for veterans, caregivers, or loved ones in the comments.

Checking in / For anyone carrying invisible weight today
by StarlitPath7
Last post

...See more Stopping by to drop a quick word of encouragement for anyone in this space who might be carrying a heavier load than usual today. Whether you're navigating the transition to civilian life, dealing with the echo of past service, or just fighting through a tough stretch where the internal noise is too loud- you aren't invisible, and you don't have to carry it all by yourself. We spend so much time pushing through, adapting, and holding the line for everyone else that we forget to give ourselves the same grace. If today is a survival day, let it be one. Your worth and your strength aren't diminished by needing a moment to breathe. Sending respect and solidarity to anyone who needs it tonight. Take it one hour at a time. 💕

When your body stays on alert even when everything seems okay
by DianaRodriguez244

...See more Sometimes the stressful situation is over, but your mind and body don’t seem to get the message. You may notice that you’re more alert than usual, have trouble relaxing, overthink small situations, or feel uncomfortable when things are finally quiet. After spending a long time under stress, adjusting to calm can take time too. Have you ever experienced this? What helps you feel grounded or safe when your mind has a hard time switching off?

Is there zero consideration of how forums like this feel to victims of the U.S military?

...See more I know this website is extremely western-biased yet I thought there was at least common sense. People from all over the globe are on this website, not just Americans and westerners. Is there any consideration whatsoever for the fact that maybe there are people here from Palestine, Vietnam, Korea. Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran etc who have extremely negative experiences with the U.S military to say the least? I am being extremely polite and considerate yet I shouldn’t be. The military section of this forum even existing is a slap to the face of every victim of the United States’ endless wars and invasions.

Deployment

...See more My partner is currently deployed in Syria. We were having some issues before he left and it just feels like this deployment is drifting us apart. It’s a 8hr time difference so his day is my night and I just feel like Im not doing enough to help with what he’s going through out there. I feel like my family is tired of hearing me talk about it all and it’s not like I’m in therapy to process what was happening before he left and I hate putting more on my partner emotionally because of what he’s already dealing with and I feel like we have no space to fix anything because he’s just gone. It just starts to feel lonely.

Wish I could get some kind of information on my son during boot camp

...See more My son is 17 and left for Ft. Benning on 3/16/26. He started training on 3/27/26. I got the scripted call and of course it was jumbled and loud so didn't hear much of anything. I've asked for all kinds of help, but I have been told that I have to wait for the commander's letter. It hasn't came and I'm getting worried that I won't get the details in time to get to his TG ceremony. Or anything for that matter. I'm loosing my mind and its worse being a 1st time Army mom. 🥺

Seeking Support

...See more Hi all, I won't post the link yet, as I'm not 100% sure whether that kind of thing is allowed here, but my husband (Army veteran) and I have had a recent personal emergency that we haven't been able to find help with yet after contacting veteran organizations, charities, churches, etc. Someone suggested we create a ***, which we did, but neither of us have any real social media presence (we're both pretty much hermits) so we've had a lot of trouble trying to get it seen. Would anyone be willing to help us by sharing it where you are able? Thank you for taking the time to read this.

...See more If this is part of your life story, please share your insights! What would you like the rest of us to learn? What should we know about people in this community? How would you like people to interact with you? Should people ask questions? What’s the best way for people to learn about this? Do you have any resources (books, movies, YT videos, etc) that will give us greater understanding and empathy and kindness toward people who experience the same things you do? If you’re not on this journey, please share insights you’ve learned while interacting with those who are, whether family, friends, or anyone else. Share things you’ve read, and ask if they’re true. Share beliefs that you have, ask questions, and more! This is a safe space where you can learn about things you’ve never experienced. <3 Let’s have a gentle, fun, friendly conversation among friends! As a song in one of the Land Before Time movies says, “It takes all sorts to make a world!” <3
