Rules of Engament
As a member and guest, we expect the following behavior in your 1-1 chats with listeners. the group supportchat rooms, and forums:
1)Professionalismtowards one another always
2)ShowsRespectin ALL live chat situations (with members, listeners & in chat room) and to all those you encounter.
3) Kindness& supportive towards each and every listener
Even if you do not get along with an individual listener or member/guest, it is up to you to act appropriately, step away and not engage. It is up to you to put yourself in situations where you can act in this manner.
I am very new to 7 cups. I was just starting a one on one conversation with [edited]. The listener opened with very offensive language that started with "lick my ass niggers" and ended with "get raped". This was before I even introduced myself. I have not been on here for very long, but it does not seem like you would tolerate this kind of treatment of someone who is looking for help.

Yeeps, I'm sorry that you experienced that! It was a troll account unfortunately. The account isn't here anymore so they won't be able to connect with anyone anymore.
Thank you Kane! It was really pretty disturbing. Then the same screen appeared in the chat room I was in afterwards! Very creepy! Thank you for repying and letting me know what happened. Everyone and everything else seems very supportive and kind at 7 cups.
I remain dedicated to 7 cups, it's mission, philosophies and above all else kindness to other humans with allmy interactions. There aretimes when some of the people who connect are discourteous in a myriad of expressionsno matter how well they are treated. Thisfact, makes any of their reports completelyone dimensional. In my opinion this factcalls into question whether said reports should carry the inertia necessaryto trigger a form letters of castigation back to listeners. There are times that within three sentences I know the person is going to complain no matter what I type or do not type. I believe themethodology for measuring the altruism and dedication of listeners should be revisited. Wetake the time to reach out to the world on your behalf as volunteers seeking to raise the spirits of the many. I take pride in my effort and serious my dedication to kindness. Listeners have feelings too and unfounded attacks on our honor are less than inspiring.

Regarding conduct in the Chat Rooms: A simple suggestion... If you wouldn't like it said to you- Don't say it to someone else 🙂
