Nope. I'm not stuck in a chair or physically constrained as that in the move.
However, while watching it, I thought of how interesting it would probably be if I went online and found a community of folks from all over who are like me, want to connect but want to do so in anonymity.

I have yet to watch The Whale, but it is high on the list for me. But, reflecting on your post, I find it remarkable how separated we can all feel on a world so incredibly full of people. Since a young age I have always felt drawn to online communities because it creates a space that dispenses with presupposition and physicality and just let people connect who otherwise wouldn’t have the slightest chance of talking to each other.
