Hey, I'm new to 7cups as im struggling with learned helplessness
Im 26, male, and for the longest I've been struggling to stay employed or find work anywhere since i had dropped out of college since 19. Mainly due to not being able to get the financial aid i needed. I think its due to my ADHD (inattentive), general anxiety disorder, and bipolar disorder that made things this difficult
My employment history is very small and there are big gaps between them. Even though i had graduated from a trade school recently because being 25 and with poor employment history it made me qualified for aid. I still remember the financial aid assistant was puzzled on how i was able to support myself with earning so little money and news flash i can't and essentially completely reliant on my parents. It didn't help my self esteem knowing that im incapable of taking care of myself.
I need support if things don't work out. Going through the program is my last ditch effort to get me out of the situation i find myself in and idk what would happen to me if it goes south. I actually really do want to go into facilities maintenance (i love learning about mechanical systems, i was in college before for mechanical engineering till that happened like i said before) but i don't know if ill make it. I have alot of growing resentment and anger about the process and im on the verge of giving up and staying jobless.
