New here. Just going through stress with a young toddler and being a caretaker to my elderly parent. I feel like I don’t have time for anything at all and my 6 year relationship with my husband is on edge. Just looking for reassurance and positive vibes. It’s my first child and the newborn stage was worse than pregnancy itself. It got easier after 6 months but it’s still very hard. I then took my dad into my home when my baby was 9 months old, because my dad got cancer and had a stroke. So I’m taking care of two people and trying to maintain a household and it all feels like everything is crumbling on me slowly.

@weatheredsoule

I feel for you. You are in “the sandwich generation” because you’re taking care of the older and younger generation. It’s very noble of you. You’re probably going through caretaker exhaustion and that might be affecting your marriage.

You have a very caring soul. Your needs are as important as others, so if you were another person in the house, how would you care for you?

I’m nearing the sandwich generation myself, so what would you say to me to help me from crumbling?
