Hi! Im Vy, and im 17. I want to find some friends aka listeners here. I have trust issues, i think due to my dad, specifically because he mentally abuse me. Im not sure if this is the right word to use, but to put it in another way, he makes me feel like im less as a person and underestimates me. I got uncomfortable and irritated when hes around. He always tries to think of a way to use other people, and life connections to him is just about give and get back. I feel like if i ever say i hate my dad, other people will react negatively to it. I dont want to talk abt this with my mom(shes like half on dads team) nor my friends, since i can be seen as vulnerable and have stupidly-annoying-to-listen-to mental issues.

Im sorry for talking too much about this even from the start. It may have made you feel uncomfortable.. But i think if theres at least one person who can resonates with this or want to be my friend, that already makes my day. Hopefully we can cheer each other up when things dont run smoothly.

Welcome 🤗

I'm sorry you are suffering and your dad treats you this way 💚

You don't deserve it.

I hope you find lots of friends here.

You might want to join the teen forums 🥰

Have a lovely day 🤗

First please don’t apologize What you shared isn’t “too much" and it isn’t stupid or annoying It sounds heavy, confusing, and lonely

you don’t need to hate your dad to be hurt by his behavior. LFeeling uncomfortable, irritated, or drained around someone who constantly puts you down is a very human response. That doesn’t make you weak it means you’re aware.

@Jennydarling1987

You are not dumb, it takes time, you can both talk here, as you are 💚🤗

I’ve noticed you’re both members. That means you can’t have a chat like listeners, but you can start a “penpal”-thread. There is a forum for that. One of you starts a thread and tags the other person. You can chat in the comments then. Hope this helps :)

Hi Vy! A huge welcome to the community. I’m so glad you reached out, and please don’t apologize for sharing your story that is exactly what this space is for.

I hear how much weight you’re carrying. It sounds incredibly draining to feel like you have to be on guard in your own home, especially when the person who should be your biggest supporter makes you feel 'less than.' What you described—feeling underestimated and used—is a lot for anyone to handle, and your feelings of irritation or discomfort are completely valid internal signals that something isn't right

I’m really happy you’re here, and I’d love to be a supportive ear for you.
