Hi, I’m new
Hi, I’m Mason, I’m 18, I’m a high school dropout because of my health. I’m here because a few things but mostly because of my fears. I am scared of a lot of things, wasps, water, step ladders, etc. But I’m mostly here because of my fear of being alone, or mostly the thought of being alone. I’m scared to meet new people because I fear they will find me annoying, or they might hate me, or they will forget me. I’ve been like this for as long as I can remember, it’s caused me to break down crying and hyperventilating, it causes me to not sleep for days, to make me forget to even eat, because I can’t stop thinking about ending up being alone. I over think it constantly. It’s even caused me to not be able to talk to people I already know, and I hate it. I hate myself because of it. I have tried getting help but the most common answer I get is that I’m introverted or something. I guess I’m here to see if anyone else is feeling this way? Or to see if maybe someone can help me. I don’t think it’s normal at all, and I’m scared that I’ll end up being as lonely as I’ve been thinking

I am so sorry you're going through this. I am glad you found 7 Cups, though, because it is very helpful.
I am much older than you, but my life has changed drastically because of my health. I, too, worry about people forgetting me, being alone, and wondering if this is all life has to offer. But, these feelings aren't productive to me and I have always been a productive person, so I decided to grieve for myself, for my health, for my drastic change in life. This helped me so much because now I am accepting my situation and figuring out what I can do with what time I have left.
I was working on my PhD when I got really ill. I had to decide if I wanted to pursue that or drop it. I decided to continue with my PhD, because what can it hurt to finish it? I really urge you to continue with school. I go to school online, which means it is less demanding, but also somewhat more demanding, because I'm basically teaching myself. Please look into high school programs that you can do online. There are many in the US. I don't know where you are, but you might be able to find some in whatever country you're in.
I also urge you to try therapy. Being an introvert is one thing, but what you are describing might be out of the realms of being an introvert.
I am glad you are here. I hope you make a lot of connections that will help you not feel so alone.
@lightTree6221 thank you so much for responding. I was worried I’d be alone in what I was feeling. I was in a wreck which started the reasons for my bad health, but then I started passing out multiple times a day, especially at school, and still don’t know why. I’m getting my GED, so I’m not fully giving up, but thank you for the worry. And therapy was the place that said I was just introverted.
