I have bad dreams, keeps waking me up.
I quit taking escitalopram and my antipsychotic medicine for sleep. Now i'm always waking up to bad dreams,
@spitFire747 Hi Fire! I'm sorry to hear about the bad dreams! I always had bad dreams too on my anxiety medicine. I think it's important to weigh the benefits though because anxiety medicine is important. Does your doctor know that you quit taking the medicine? It's important to stop the medicine with a doctor's help so that you don't run the risk of hurting your body. Please make sure you talk to your doctor before making any decisions! Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing bad dreams after quitting your medication. It's important to understand that abruptly stopping medication without the guidance of a healthcare professional can have adverse effects. It's recommended that you speak with your prescribing doctor before making any changes to your medication regimen. They can help you safely and gradually taper off your medication to avoid any negative effects.
In the meantime, there are some things you can do to help manage your bad dreams. You can try practicing relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or yoga before bed to help calm your mind. Additionally, establishing a regular sleep schedule, avoiding caffeine before bedtime, and creating a calming sleep environment can also help improve the quality of your sleep.
If your bad dreams persist, it's important to seek professional help. Your doctor or a mental health professional can work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your specific needs. They can also help address any underlying mental health concerns that may be contributing to your bad dreams.
