I miss the old me… the carefree happy me

Hey yall…. I’m Becca. 39 years old and live in the USA. Home of the brave…. You have to be brave to live here lol

I’m struggling with my marriage. We have been married 7.5 years….. he often screams at me, blames me, does not take accountability for anything. Never apologizes…… even if I cry. He is a GOD to everyone we know. He only does this to me when we are alone or around complete strangers. It’s been going on years and I honesty feel lost and feel like I don’t know who I am anymore. I’ve isolated myself from friends and rarely leave my home. Walking on egg shells. Really looking for advice and to make friends. Preferably in USA.

Unfortunately, I’m not in the U.S., but I want to say that you’re in a situation that many people find themselves in. When a married man (or woman) acts differently in public. It’s awful, especially if one spouse is emotionally abusive or very toxic. If divorce isn’t an option, then I can tell you that you should at least accept that others see you in a negative light—but that’s just their opinion. You’re actually doing enough, behaving appropriately, and you deserve respect. Don’t let all these things destroy your self-confidence. Even if your husband sounds rational. I know it’s very hard to make decisions when you’re in the middle of this situation. And that’s why I hope you can at least protect yourself from these thoughts—until you find a solution. Hang in there!

This is such a painful experience. And I'm so sorry you're facing so much heartache, and isolation. There is hope!! I have found so much help from Laura Doyle's books, and podcast. Yesturday I listened to The Empowered Wife podcast episode 360 and 361, beautiful testimonies of this.

Hoping you feel more peace and joy soon! ♥️
